COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A financial workshop for small business owners was held at Columbus State University Thursday.
The LeadSMART Finance workshop was presented by the University of Georgia SBDC, Kinetic Credit Union, and AJK Certified Public Accountants.
The event gave insight on some of the 2018 changes in tax laws affecting small business. Attendees were also informed on the commercial lending process.
Brett Walker, chief of lending from Kinetic Credit Union and Brad Clemons, from AJK LLC discussed accounting.
"Businesses need ongoing training to handle to prepare for the challenges that growth brings so our role at the university of Georgia is to create, develop, and deliver training to help these businesses prepare at the different stages of the business life cycle," said Mark Lupo, area director for the UGA Small Business Development Center.
