Columbus man pleaded guilty on drug, possession of a firearm charges

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – A Columbus man pleaded guilty for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute on Wednesday, September 5.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, 27-year-old Clint Walker is facing a mandatory minimum of 10 years in federal prison and up to a maximum sentence of life in prison, a $10 million fine, or both for possession of the methamphetamine and a maximum 10-year sentence for the possession of the firearm.

On Dec. 19, 2017, officers with the Columbus Police Department found Walker in possession of methamphetamine and a star semi-automatic handgun during a traffic stop.

Walker was prohibited from possessing a gun based on his prior convictions for robbery by force, possession of a sawed-off shotgun, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, three counts of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and possession of Xanax with intent to distribute.
