COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Family and friends of a man murdered in Columbus came together Monday night to celebrate his life.
Dozens came out for a candlelight vigil to remember Thalmus Jones.
Jones was found suffering from a gunshot wound at the intersection of Rigdon Road and 10th Street around 11 p.m. Sept. 8. He later died from his injuries.
Jones' sister said she appreciates everyone gathering to pay their respects.
"Me and my family, my siblings and my dad, we appreciate everybody. Everybody is paying their respects. We just want to keep everyone, we don't want any issues, no drama, no fussing, no fighting, or arguing. We just want to come together and just celebrate him. That's all we ask," said Jones sister, Kasheta Boone-Wilson.
Police are still investigating the case. Anyone with information on Jones' murder is asked to call the Columbus Police Department at 706-225-4395.
