Columbus City Council member honored by GA Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus City Councilor Mimi Woodson was recognized this week as one of The Top 50 Most Influential Latinos in Georgia.
The Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce selects such gifted leaders based on the degree of influence each person exhibits in their role as a representative of the Latino community.
The recognition coincides with the upcoming observance of Hispanic Heritage Month and the kick-off of the Tri-City Latino Festival. Woodson has been instrumental in planning the event in Columbus.
The festival takes place in the Columbus Civic Center parking lot from noon to 8 p.m. Admission is free.
