The Historic Windsor Hotel

Welcome to the Windsor Hotel...

Where some of the guest never checked out, they're ghosts.

In 1970 the doors were closed, but now--the hotel is the crown jewel of Americus Georgia, from top to bottom.

After going through a 5.8 million- dollar face lift, the Windsor is once again offering a antique world of charm with Victorian decor, while maintaining its Southern hospitality

"The Windsor is an historic attraction here in Americus. It was built in 1892. We have a grand dining room that we serve lunch and super and we attract a lot of people with our menu. We also have Floyd's Pub," said Marketing Director, Sharon Brown.

The hotel has 53-uniquely designed rooms and suites.

They all have 12-foot ceilings and none of them is decorated the same.

Visitors can also enjoy a state-of-the-art spa one room in particular folks at the Windsor say it's special because it's been home to many,  from president's to hollywood actresses.

"This room is where Jimmy and Mrs. Roselyn has spent the night. We've also had Jessica Tandy here as our guest when she was filming. Some of the old stories is that Al Capone actually stayed here in the bridal suite and had someone stand guard at the door to protect him, "added Brown.
