Some Showers for Saturday and Dry Sunday

We will have some rain around on Saturday afternoon, especially in our southern and eastern counties, but other than that we see partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid-to-upper 60s. For Sunday we see clouds decreasing throughout the day to make us mostly sunny and cooler with highs in the upper-50

Half In Half Weekend On The Way

Stormy Weather in Store by the New Year

For the first time since Christmas morning, no freezing temperatures to contend as we wake up Tuesday morning!

Quiet Early Week; Watching New Year’s

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Nothing better than starting our week with lots of sunshine and mild to warm temperatures returning to the Valley. Lots of middle 60s for the next couple of days will be common, however some changes are on the way just in time to say goodbye top 2020 and hello to 2021.

Milder and Eventually Stormier Weather to Close Out 2020

Another dose of bone-chilling cold to kick-off Monday morning, but if you’re still frozen over from Christmas, you’ll be pleased to hear some milder weather is back in the forecast as we finally wrap up 2020.

Warming Up Into the Work Week

We have one more cold night ahead of us before we start to warm up into next week, so make sure you keep the cold weather preps in place for one more night. For the work week we keep things dry with highs in the 60s until mid-week when we see rain returning to the forecast.

A Pleasant End to the Weekend

For your Sunday we will see a whole lot of sunshine with highs in the mid-50s to make for a great end to the weekend across the Chattahoochee Valley. We keep things pleasant and dry through midweek as highs get back into the 60s, but the next big change to the forecast comes Wednesday into Thursday.

Frigid Start to the Weekend After Christmas

As advertised, Christmas was the coldest in 31 years in the Columbus area with the high only making it to 40 degrees. Lows heading into Saturday morning will be frigid, with most places ranging from 18 to 26. This is the kind of weather where you want to think about protecting your pipes.

Cold for Christmas and Sunny for the Weekend!

We are on tap for the coldest Christmas across the Chattahoochee Valley that we have seen in several years!!

Bitter Cold Christmas on Tap

The rain is in the process of moving out, but there is some mixing of sleet and snow on the back edge of the precipitation as things are moving out. This won’t amount to much, and the bigger story is the switch to much colder weather on the back side of the rain.

Rainy for Christmas Eve, but Mostly Sunny for Christmas Day!

We will see a lot of rain around on Christmas Eve throughout the day with a few storms in the mix, and we will see our temperatures dropping throughout the day, too.

Rain & Storms Return Christmas Eve; Bitter Cold Air Arrives After

Big changes are ahead in the short-term weather as we deal with increasing clouds tonight and rain returning overnight and on Christmas Eve morning. Expect a good soaking and a few thunderstorms involved with the potential for gusty winds in some of those storms.

Warm Wednesday Ahead; Big Changes For Christmas Eve & Day

Temperatures will remain warm on Wednesday with highs in the mid to upper 60s for the Chattahoochee Valley. Some spots could see 70 degrees as we deal with one more warm day before some changes. Clouds will be increasing through the day on Wednesday ahead of the next storm system.

Mild for Now; Tracking Rain & a Winter Blast for Christmastime

Now that we have The Great Conjunction behind us, our attention turns to wet weather on Christmas Eve and the Arctic Blast all the way from the North Pole just in time for Christmas Day.

Quiet Start to the Week; Watching Christmas Changes!

The weather as we start out the week is looking pretty quiet - expect a lot of sunshine through mid-week with highs in the lower 60s. Clouds will increase a bit on Wednesday out ahead of the next storm system, and that will be the major focus of our forecast.

Thick Fog to Start the Week; Eyeing Christmas Eve Rain

Monday morning greeting us with some dense fog across the Chattahoochee Valley thanks to the weekend rain, making for a gloomy start to the week.

Milder Early Week; Cold Christmas

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - As showers move out tonight and drier air moves in, we will be allowed to start our new week on a brighter and milder note. Sunshine will break out around late morning Monday with temps rising pretty close 60 by the afternoon.

Chilly Sunshine Returns, but Rain Looms Later This Weekend

Finally, sunshine has returned to the Chattahoochee Valley just in time for Friday but starting off with below freezing temperatures across the Valley and widespread ice and frost, too.

Cold Mornings Ahead; Rain Back on Sunday

Clouds will decrease through the overnight hours with temperatures bottoming out in the 20s and 30s early Friday morning across the Chattahoochee Valley. Friday will feature mid 50s for highs with plenty of sunshine, still well below average for this time of year.

Lingering, Stubborn Clouds Before More Freezing Temperatures

Overcast skies will stick around through at least the early afternoon before we see a break in the cloud cover.

Rain Moving Out; Colder Temperatures Ahead

The rain that we’ve been dealing with on Wednesday will soon be moving out of the area with cooler and drier weather building in for Thursday through Saturday. Look for highs in the 40s and 50s as we end the week with highs nearing the 60 degree mark by Saturday.

A Soggy and Dreary Wednesday; Turning Even Colder

Wednesday morning starting off about as dreary and miserable as possible with a cold, drenching rain moving across the Chattahoochee Valley.

Rain Chances Back Wednesday; Staying Cool!

A storm system will impact the area later tonight and into the day on Wednesday with the highest coverage expected before the lunch hour for most of the area. Temperatures sill stay cool with highs in the lower 50s, and after the rain moves out, skies will stay cloudy.

The Winter Chill Returns; Rain on the Horizon Mid-Week

Winter-like temperatures have returned to the Chattahoochee Valley for Tuesday morning—very fitting as we’re less than a week out from the Winter Solstice AND less than 2 weeks until Christmas!

Mostly Quiet Week Ahead; Staying Cooler Than Average

We have a pretty quiet week ahead in the forecast with cool conditions for Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the mid 50s an lows in the 30s and 40s. We will see a few clouds on Tuesday, but watch for the next storm system to return on Wednesday, bringing another chance for rain.

Rain Coming to an End; Turning Chilly & Windy

After a mild weekend, the new work week brings another blast of winter air behind our next cold front moving through the Valley this morning.

Couple Cold Fronts In Store

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - After a mainly dry Sunday, showers and downpours are on their way to the Valley heading into tonight. This is in association with our first cold front of the week that will move through Monday morning.

Tracking Three Cold Fronts Over the Next 9 Days

For Sunday we will see highs in the upper-60s and lower-70s with some isolated showers throughout the daytime hours. Overnight we will see the highest coverage of rain, and that will linger into the early morning and commute-time hours of Monday.

A Couple Rain Chances On The Way

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Milder and more unsettled conditions have returned to the Chattahoochee Valley. Tracking some showers (30-40% coverage) for tonight that should not bring a washout. Temps rather comfortable in the middle 50s for low.

Mostly Dry Days and Rainy Nights for the Weekend

For the weekend, we are looking mostly dry during the daytime hours, but the overnight hours are when we see that best shot at some showers. For Saturday we will see highs in the low-70s and windy conditions as a cold front approaches the area.

Keep the Umbrella Nearby This Weekend

Plenty of cool sunshine to kick-off Friday, but more clouds will creep their way back into the forecast by tonight ahead of a more unsettled weather pattern taking over this weekend.

Warm Through the Weekend; Rain Coverage Increases Late Saturday

Our temperatures will stay in the 70s heading into your Friday with mostly sunny skies and we should see the 70s return on Saturday too. The next storm system will cause clouds to increase late on Friday with shower chances going up by Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening.

Turning Milder; Rain on the Horizon

Waking up to a chilly start across Georgia and Alabama, but the warming trend that kicked off yesterday will really be in full swing this afternoon as highs top out nicely near 70.

Warming Trend Kicking In; Rain Back for the Weekend

After another freeze early on Wednesday morning, we have a warming trend to talk about as we head through the rest of this week. Look for highs in the mid to upper 60s for Thursday and Friday with the potential for some 70 degree readings in spots.

Thawing Out for the Rest of the Week

Frosty, freezing, and foggy across the Valley for Wednesday morning, but once we thaw out into the afternoon, the rest of the week looks much warmer in comparison.

Another Cold Start Early Wednesday; Quiet, Calm Days Ahead

We will see another cold start heading into Wednesday with lows in the 20s and 30s and widespread frost across the area to start the day. The winds won’t be as strong, so wind chill probably won’t be a main concern early during the day.

One More Freezing Night Before a Warming Trend Kicks-Off

Another dose of freezing temperatures to greet us for Tuesday morning and expect more of the same for Wednesday before a trend toward warmer temperatures for the latter half of the week.

Quiet Weather This Week; Chilly AMs in the Short-Term

We will deal with some chilly mornings the next couple of days with temperatures at or below the freezing mark in many communities Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Wind chills will be in the 20s early Tuesday morning with the winds still staying gusty.
