Columbus resident celebrating her 105th birthday party

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Covenant Woods had a guest of honor this week - as Mary B. Martin celebrated her 105th birthday.

She received gifts and flowers, in addition to also being accompanied by her family. Martin was born March 13, 1919 in Clem, Georgia - which is near Carrolton.

She has two brothers, and two sons - one has passed on. She is also the oldest member of the John’s Creek Baptist Church in Alpharetta, Georgia.

They celebrated her at Covenant Woods today and they all enjoyed cake together.

“I believe in God and He’s always by my side and walks with me day and day and that’s the main reason why I’ve lived so long,” said the birthday girl.

In attendance with her was her son and his wife, as well as her great niece and her husband.
