COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Hundreds of people from all over the Chattahoochee Valley turned out in full force Thursday for a new kind of food experience called Slutty Vegan.
Slutty Vegan is the actual name of the restaurant. There are three successful brick and mortar locations in metro-Atlanta.
Slutty Vegan, which serves a variety of vegan comfort food items like burgers and sandwiches, came to Columbus on a tour where it sets up shop in its food truck and serves various communities throughout the country.
The names of the 100 percent plant-based food on the menu definitely makes you stop and blush, with names like the Super Slut and Hollywood Hooker. The names are all part of the restaurant’s sexy marketing scheme.
Those who visited Slutty Vegan said they showed up for good food.
“I was here at 9:30 a.m. because I wanted to make sure I got a burger because I was so excited,” said Yvette Daniels. “When I saw the truck, I said okay, let me go ahead and turn in then I saw the line wrapped around the building.”
“I have visited them in Atlanta, and they are really good,” said Ada Love. “So, I wanted to come and support them as they are here in the community doing something different for the alternative eating here.”
“We are always going to try our best to expand as much as possible,” said Angel Barnwell, business manager of Slutty Vegan. “The goal is to have 13 to24 stores nationally and this is how we generate interest. So, you know if Columbus might want a Slutty Vegan, we will see what we can do.”
Barnwell said it is possible Columbus could see a permanent Slutty Vegan location, but nothing is set in stone.
