HAMILTON, Ga. (WTVM) - Harris County baseball honored late coach Tony Dimitri during Monday night’s Season Opener, paying tribute to the coach who tragically passed away last month.
Tony’s brother, John, threw out the first pitch of the game.
Tony’s wife and children presented the lineup cards to begin the game.
Interim head coach Brandon Jenkins said coach Dimitri was Harris County baseball.
“It means everything. Tony Dimitri was Harris County, and he’s a big part of everything we do. We’ve been looking forward to the season since the boys were six years old,” said interim head coach Brandon Jenkins. “It’s just a special group coming through, and it was going to be the start of something big.”
