WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
The largest risk with this system is the pockets of gusty winds. Additionally, there is an isolated tornado risk as well. With this system it is important to also keep in mind the timing.
RISK:
We have a level 2 to 3 risk of severe weather in the Valley. While not every storm will be severe or damaging, this is becoming our highest risk so far this season.
TIMING:
3-9 AM ET Monday for the WTVM area, not that whole time for a specific place. Some showers will linger after the main risk.
THREATS:
The tornado threat has been trending higher in the last 24-36 hours with this as individual supercells are possible. Also, plan on scattered damaging wind gusts that may lead to power outages along with isolated large hail.
BE PREPARED:
This isn’t the first, nor will it be the last threat we’ll have through April & early May.
- Have at least two different ways to receive alerts, especially while you’re sleeping — they need to wake you up.
- Be ready to take action if a warning is issued for your area.
- Live in a mobile home or trailer? Planning needs to start earlier. You have to get to SAFE shelter before a tornado warning issued.
- As we get closer, and especially during the event, we can’t respond to every question or give a personal forecast. Those who are more in-tune to what’s happening, please help out others seeking information. Above all, be kind.
- You can WATCH our livestream on the WTVM Weather app, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Firestick.
