Troup County baseball advances to second-straight state championship

LAGRANGE, Ga. (WTVM) - Troup County hosted the Final Four versus Peach County for a spot in the state title game.

The Tigers run-ruled the Trojans in the first game that took over two hours to finish by a score of 15-5.

The second game was low-scoring as Troup had a 3-0 lead entering the bottom of the 7th. Peach County hit a two-run homer to close the gap, but lights-out pitching from Chase Mosely ended the game 3-2.

The Tigers are back in the state championship for the second year in a row and will face Pickens at Synovus Park May 23 at 5 p.m.
