CLASS AAAA CLASH: Troup Co. hosts Calhoun in Sports Overtime Game of the Week

LAGRANGE, Ga. (WTVM) - High school football fans across Georgia are in for a treat this Friday night as WTVM’s Sports Overtime Game of the Week presents a monumental top-10 showdown.

The newly crowned No. 2 Troup County Tigers (2-0) are set to defend Callaway Stadium against the dangerous No. 6 Calhoun Yellow Jackets (1-1).

Whether you are tuning in on television or streaming on your phone, WTVM has you covered with complete live coverage from the first whistle to the final play.

THE MATCHUP: STRENGTH VS. STRENGTH

This non-region battle offers the ultimate tactical contrast:

• The Tigers’ Ground Force: Troup County rides into Week 3 fueled by an explosive rushing game. Running back Javarris Warner has been an absolute force on the ground, coming off an incredible Week 1 performance where he racked up 279 yards.
• The Yellow Jackets’ Precision: Calhoun counter-punches with a surgical passing attack led by quarterback Trace Hawkins, who boasts an impressive 71.4% completion rate.

With Troup County leaping to No. 2 and Calhoun hungry to bounce back and prove their Top-5 pedigree, expect playoff-level intensity in August.
