Seth Appleby

Seth Appleby first joined 7 News as an intern reporter in May 2025 before becoming full time in August.

He graduated from SUNY Oswego with a bachelor's degree in Broadcasting and Mass Communication, and was heavily involved with the student-run television station, WTOP.

Seth was born and raised just south of Syracuse. In high school he joined a BOCES program at WCNY, where PBS and NPR programing is broadcasted, and soon found his interest in television news.

Outside of the news room, you may catch Seth at the thrift shop, on his kayak fishing, or on his motorcycle cruising backroads. Seth also enjoys traveling and even studied in New Zealand while in college.

Seth is looking forward to settling into the north country and exploring all it has to offer. If you have a story idea or just want to say hello, you can email him at seth.appleby@gray.tv.
