Most Wanted: Super 8 Motel shooting

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - It's been a little over a month since a man was brutally shot to death in the parking lot of a Columbus motel.

A deadly shooting claimed the life of 24-year-old Travis Coleman, who was gunned down in the Super 8 Motel parking lot on Warm Springs Road in Columbus on Dec. 18, 2015.

More than one month later, police are still trying to locate the gunman.

"The assault units responded to the scene to take over the investigation and they told them the suspect looked like a black male with long dreadlocks, approximately 19 to 30 years old," said Officer Paul Moody.

Witnesses also told police the suspect stands between 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs between 140 to 180 pounds and was wearing a black hoodie and dark colored pants.

But police are hoping it's the photo of the car they say the suspect got away in will help them catch their guy!

"According to witnesses, it was a white four door mid-size sedan," Officer Moody said.

Police are hoping this photo of the vehicle in question will spark someone's memory and help them solve this difficult case.

"We do the best we can with the picture that we were given," Officer Moody said. "It's more difficult without a tag but we do the best with what we are given."

Even the smallest details are important and could be the lead police need to make an arrest.
