Central High wrestler makes program history
PHENIX CITY, Ala. (WTVM) - It was a historic day at Central High, following the most recent college signing.
Central wrestler Caidence Sellars became the first female wrestler in program history to sign a collegiate offer.
She’ll be taking her talents to Huntingdon College in Montgomery.
Sellars says she is excited about leaving her mark at Central High.
“Leaving my mark, I’m very satisfied with what I’m leaving behind. I think the girls will continue to lead the legacy in a good way and bring new girls in. You know carry in what Coach Gittens originally made for us. I believe the girls will do the program justice. I’m just honored to be able to be the first one to not only be the first one to knot only have girls feel like they have a family but also have a sport that they fall in love with,” Sellars said.
Congratulations Caidence and best of luck at the next level.
